Here is another painting from my series ‘Spirit of India’ featuring the essence of Goa on my Canvas.

This picturesque coastal state is not only renowned for its breath-taking beaches but also for its vibrant culture and delectable cuisine.

While there are a lot of Goan dishes, I have painted Xacuti / शागोती which is often served with chicken, crabs etc. I being a eggetarian, have tried Mushroom Xacuti in Panjim and I fell in love with it. ❤️ The Goan bread called Poi / Poee is very unique. It is round and covered in wheat bran on the outside.

Goan houses are a combination of both Indian and Portuguese style. Sloping roof for protecting from the monsoon, vibrant colors and it also has verandah / balcao facing the street where there is a built-in sitting area. They look so gorgeous. 🫶

Kaavi Kale / Kaavi art is a form of goan folk art. The term Kaav in Konkani refers to Indian red pigment which is the only color used in this painting, is obtained from the laterite soil. These are reddish brown murals against white sandblasted backgrounds. 😊

Get this painting to add joyful vibes to your space. 😊

The painting is varnished for protection.

It is done on stretched canvas so it is hang ready as is.

Due to differences in screen displays, colors may vary slightly.

Painting care: We don't add a glass while framing. We believe reflection of the glass takes away the charm of the original painting. Since the paintings are varnished, they are already protected. If dust accumulates, gently wipe it with a slightly damp cloth.
